About the guide

Fewer places. Better reasons.

Porteño Guide is an independent editorial guide to Buenos Aires for people who would rather have a thoughtful shortlist than another endless directory.

What we publish

We document restaurants with a distinctive sense of place, from parrillas and bodegones to contemporary kitchens and informal neighborhood favorites. Every listing should explain not only where a place is, but why it belongs in a Buenos Aires itinerary.

English is currently the primary editorial language. Spanish names and descriptions are included when available and are reviewed as editorial content, not treated as decoration.

What we do not publish

  • Paid placement or sponsored ranking positions.
  • Anonymous user ratings or unmoderated reviews.
  • Listings added solely to make the directory appear larger.
  • Claims of firsthand experience when a visit has not been recorded.

Who edits Porteño Guide

The Porteño Guide editorial team researches, selects, writes, and maintains the directory. Individual contributors will be named when their reporting or photography appears on the site. Until then, listings are attributed to the editorial team rather than an invented personal byline.

Editorial independence: restaurants cannot purchase inclusion, ranking, or favorable language.

Accuracy and corrections

Restaurants change quickly. We record when listing data changes and distinguish a firsthand editorial visit from source-based verification. If something is wrong, please use the corrections process.
