Who made this

We're a family — two adults, two kids — moving from the United States to Buenos Aires in January 2027. This site is where we're organizing what we learn along the way.

We started it because the available information was scattered, often outdated, and frequently written by people who'd spent two weeks in Palermo on a tourist visa. We wanted something more like what a friend who'd actually done the move would tell you.

What this is

A living document. We update it as we research, as we visit, and eventually as we live there. The goal is practical — neighborhoods, housing, schools, healthcare, visas, banking, and the hundred smaller things that come up when you're actually moving a family abroad.

We try to be honest about what we know and what we don't. When something is based on secondhand research, we say so. When we've actually seen it ourselves, we note that too. Uncertainty doesn't get papered over with confident-sounding copy.

Why it might be useful to you

If you're also researching a move to Buenos Aires — especially with a family — a lot of this will be directly relevant. We're making the same decisions you are. The schools we looked at, the neighborhoods we ruled out and why, the visa path we chose: it's all here.

We're not Argentina experts. We're people who've done a lot of research and are now in the process of testing that research against reality. That's the honest version of what this is.

• A complete or finished resource — it's a work in progress, updated as we learn more.
