Selection criteria
A restaurant does not need to be expensive, fashionable, or famous. It should offer at least one compelling reason to recommend it.
- Sense of place: it contributes something meaningful to its neighborhood or to porteño dining culture.
- Distinctiveness: the food, room, history, hospitality, or value is memorable enough to justify a recommendation.
- Usefulness: we can explain who the place suits, what to order, and what visitors should know beforehand.
- Consistency: available evidence supports an enduring recommendation rather than a momentary trend.
Research and verification
Addresses, contact details, menus, reservation policies, and hours are checked against official restaurant sources whenever possible. The URLs used for verification are retained with the listing data. Uncertain values remain empty or are described with an explicit caveat.
A source-verified listing is not presented as a firsthand visit. When an editor visits, the visit date is stored separately and may be shown on the page.
Writing and translation
Descriptions and editor notes should contain original judgment, not rewritten marketing copy. Spanish text is reviewed for meaning and local usage. Automated translation may assist drafting, but it is not published without editorial review.
Commercial independence
Inclusion cannot be purchased. Complimentary meals, invitations, affiliate relationships, or other material considerations will be disclosed on the relevant page if they occur. They do not guarantee coverage or favorable treatment.
Updates and removals
Listing pages show when their data was last updated. A restaurant may be corrected, unpublished, or removed when it closes, changes substantially, or no longer meets the editorial standard. We review specific, sourced corrections through thecorrections process.
